Hi, I'm Naomi O'Brien
I'm a K–2 educator, author, and Science of Reading specialist. I've spent over a decade in early elementary classrooms, hold Gifted, Early Childhood, and ESOL endorsements, and have been rated Highly Effective and Distinguished in multiple districts. Today I coach teachers and partner with schools and districts on reading instruction.
Long before I knew it was called “the Science of Reading,” I was teaching explicit, systematic phonics and watching 5- to 7-year-olds become skilled readers over a single school year.

What grade levels is this membership for?
The membership is designed for kindergarten through second grade. Third graders who are significantly below grade level in foundational skills will also benefit. Many struggling readers aren't struggling readers. They just weren't given the right instruction.
What do I get when I join?

Are these lessons available on TpT or my website?
No. The 46 weeks of phonics, PA, sight word, and fluency lessons and the PD videos are exclusive to the membership. Because of the training videos and systematic setup, the lessons aren't sold individually. Other Read Like a Rockstar resources, like sound wall cards, are available at ReadLikeaRockstarTeaching.com.
How do I know where my students should start?
A diagnostic assessment is included so you can find the right starting point for your class or child, then follow the scope and sequence from there.
Can I cancel anytime?
